I am a venture capitalist with GGV Capital in Menlo Park, CA. Prior to GGV, I spent 10+ years as an entrepreneur, starting two different companies (one worked, one didn’t). I travel to China frequently to spend time with our teams in Shanghai and Beijing, hence the name of the blog (flight time approx. 13 hrs).
I am passionate about investing in great entrepreneurs and CEOs, and the companies they are building. I also feel fortunate to be part of a firm that is thriving in the US and China, the two most exciting technology markets in the world. We have a terrific, team-oriented approach to investing, and I think it shows in the companies we’ve been able to back.
When not working or playing with my four kids, I am an avid reader of tech news online, spend time with nonprofits focused on kids and education, coach soccer, fly-fish and play golf.
The header photo on the blog is a shot I took with my Nikon D90 while at the Songstam Hotel in Shangri-La, a remote province in China about 200 miles from Tibet.
